Ah, yes. Nao is indeed a female drummer, the sister of the guitarist who puked on her phone at the beginning of the video, a mom who rocks hard, and the inspiration of Band Maid’s own Akane.

No one is prepared for Maximum the Hormone! Nao (the drummer) is the one who inspired Akane (Band-Maid) to pursue a career as a rock & roll drummer. Also, Nao has had two kids while being MTH’s drummer, which inspired Tamu (Nemophila) that you could be a mom and keep on with your music career.

“What just happened?!”. Probably the most common sentence spoken by people who listen to MTH for the first time 😂 A good amount of their music is like this, so expect the unexpected. Gotta recommend A.L.I.E.N and Yoshu Fukushu and just about anything else they’ve done.

The drummer, Nao, was a major inspiration for Akane from Band Maid. She’s a complete badass on the drums.
‘System of a Down’ is a pretty good comparison for them. They change genres in mid-song all over the place and do some truly wild things with song structure. Their lyrics are usually about social issues as well if you translate them, and sometimes they’re playful about them as well. Like their song “A-L-I-E-N” having a really interesting message behind it.

🤘🤘 When Akane found out the drummer was female, she was inspired to play as hard as Nao!!! Miku even mentioned that she listens to them.” A.L.I.E.N.” next, please!!! 👍👍🤘🤘🤘

Haha, MTH is very random, they constantly switch genres multiple times a song. Every member sings in the band, they can also play each others instruments (instance Nao moving from drummer to singer when injured his neck headbanging, ans him moving to drums temporarily) the drummer and guitarist are brother and sister as well. This song, was made because Ryo, he used to be, bluntly, obese, and came close to dying, and his dr told him he needed to lose weight. She he lost a lot of weight and got super healthy. Unfortunately, a ton of fans hated the weight loss and wanted him to be fat again. This song is pretty much a “fuck you” to fans, talking about obesity and the pain he felt and all the health problems associated it.

They love messing with their fans tho

I usually hate “screaming” bands, but this band made me laugh. Of course, I can hardly ignore any group that Band-Maid respects. … I’m like you, though: “Is that what they do, or did you just stumble upon their weirdest song?”

“WTF did I just witness?!” is the usual reaction to Maximum the Hormone. A very deep rabbit hole you started into, one that you’ll gonna LOVE I can assure you!
A little context and backstory to the song/video: the guitarist/singer Maximum the Ryo-kun (the one with the dreads) used to be a lot heavier (as you can see in the beginning of the video). But in recent years, he got really sick, got gout and all sorts of other medical issues due to his weight, so he went on a brutal diet and changed his lifestyle. He ended up losing a LOT of weight, and improving his health dramatically. However, many fans actually hated the change, and some of them actually demanded that Ryo gained back the weight (yes, seriously). This song is for those fans. It’s basically about how sick Ryo was and how hard he had to fight to lose the weight and be healthy again, and if you actually want him fat and sick again you’re an asshole.

MTH is one of most complex and, yes, crazy metal bands out there. Yes, the drummer is female, her name is Nao and actually the big sister of Ryo. The bassist is Ue-chan and the screamo guy is Daisuke-han. I highly recommend you watch/listen to their earlier stuff, and if you want some crazy creative songs try Yoshu-Fukushu, A.L.I.E.N., Hungry Pride and many others. I really think you’ll love them.

Be careful with this band. They don’t like reactors and have already been in charge of closing a channel. On the other hand … they are great. Another great song: Yoshu Fukushu. The drumer, Nao. is the inspiration of Akane to be a drummer.

Unfortunately one does miss quite a bit without understanding the lyrics and knowing the band.
Most of their songs aren’t as crazy as this one (especially the older ones) but it’s also not the most crazy song they have.

Nice maximum the hormone was my intro to Japanese metal. Nao is the female drummers name. All of their music is like this. I recommend yoshu fukushu or alien 👽

Nice, finally Maximum the Hormone, the king 👑 of genre bending, the best troll band ever! They’re a legend, if you had watched Death Note anime in the early 2000’s, you would recognize the band right away. Also Akane, Hanabie, Nemophila heck Dicodec channel love this band so much!

Hope more from MTH, and more J-Rock/Metal reaction please. Hope you’ll pick Unlucky Morpheus soon🤘🎌

I love MTH. Yes, they are like that all the time, but different 😉 . SOAD is the best comparison, but even crazier. Early MTH are more punk, newer stuff more “metal” mixed with everything.

The song was about the guitarist he had health problems and needed to go on a diet but the fans didn’t want him to and Sent him food so that was a FU to the fans.

In a nutshell. Guitarist/singer (Ryu) was overweight. For health reasons he lost a lots pounds. Fans liked him chubby. So they released this. Basic message of the song is being fat will kill you.
Yes. They are all over the place, always! It’s awesome. Check out “hungry pride” for a true thrash fest
