Oh man if you thought that was one of the most interesting songs you have heard in a long time, you are in for a treat. This song is pretty straightforward for MtH. I highly recommend checking out their songs Yoshu Fukushu and Maximum the Hormone II -Let’s Talk about Menkata Cottelee. The first is my all time favourite song!
Also as a little help cause you prefer understanding what the songs are about, Yoshu Fukushu is about guitarist Ryo being bullied in school. He lets his rage out in the song and then sort of lets go of it towards the end. Maximum the Hormone II -Let’s Talk about Menkata Cottelee is a sort of fuck you to “fans” who, when Ryo had to lose weight due to serious health issues, complained that they preferred the old fat Ryo. I think the lyrics are just a bunch of stuff about some health issues from overweight and what food is bad or okay to eat. Hope that helps if you check them out 🖤

I was introduced to Maximum the Hormone about 12 years ago when I started watching anime. Obviously, I have to recommend What’s Up People and Zetsubou Billy.

Please do Maximum The Hormone! They use so many different styles in their songs and they make it work so well. Yoshu Fukushu is a must listen

Oh please do more of these guys. Been a fan for years and they deserve so much more love than they get.

This is a quality band and a quality song! Maybe I’ll need to request MORE Maximum the Hormone myself, they’re so good.

I was screaming that they should be allowed to do the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
I’m sure it would have been a mess.

Haha I forgot about this band. Fun times in high school rocking out to them with my friends with our rock band game guitars/drums haha!

More of them and more J – Metal.
Dir En Grey, Lovebites, Sigh, Babymetal, there are great bands there.

It’s funny that Vegans and Vegetarians try to put themselves on a pedestal but the irony is that technically they’re still killing and eating an organism. So How does that Almond and Soy milk taste now?

Ryo the lead singer and vocalsist the guy with the dreads is the little brother of the drumer Nao.

Oh hell ya. MTH rocks hard. And… at least ten of the bands I listen to, the drummers of those bands were inspired by Nao (the drummer of MTH) to be drummers. Nao is crazy talented in drumming and vocals. She’s awesome!

They‘re a blast live and perform on a level that is as close to perfection as you can get. Besides, any song from them is more than worth checking out. 🙂

Its good to see Maximum the Hormone being reviewed. I’m hoping they may be gateway for you guys to finally visit the Japanese Band Scene which is single-handedly keeping Hard Rock/Metal alive. I believe they currently have 4 to 5 of the worlds Best Aggressive based bands. And 3 of those bands are all female with next level musical skills. Bands like Band-Maid’s drummer Akane (Next Level drummer) has pointed to Nao Kawakita the female drummer from Maximum the Hormone as her prime influence. Nemophila another insanely great band. lets not forget about Baby Metal. I urge you to point your eyes and ears to the Far East to the land of the rising sun. You will not regret it!

Since you mentioned Dragon Ball Z, Hormone made a song called “F” dedicated to DB’s villain Frieza. Then Toriyama, DB’s author, was inspired by the song and wrote the animated movie The Resurrection Of “F”.

Maximum the hormone fans are called “harapeko”, which is a cute way of saying hungry in Japanese. So the title “Hungry Pride” has slightly more context.
Also, this song was made for Nissin’s cup noodle commercial song, hence the noodles in the video.

Found out about maximum the hormone by accident on YouTube then noticed that they did anime songs as well then they got a new label and I love that band with my whole heart throughout the years even more now than ever ❤

For some really heavy Japanese metal, check out Boris. Hands down the heaviest live band I’ve ever seen.
