マキシマム ザ ホルモン 『ハングリー・プライド』
This song is a commercial song made by guitarist Ryokun as an advertising agency for Cup Noodles. As an outsider advertising agency, the method of planning and producing without permission and selling it to NISSIN FOODS became a hot topic in Japan.
Great reaction as usual
“Hungry Pride” is a more straight forward song compared to that MTH usually does. On their official channel, you have some music videos left like “Maximum The Hormone” (full version) and “Maximum The Hormone II” or “Koi no Sperm” (with live footage), “VAP” (a tribute song for their former label) and “kyokatsu” (live taken from their April concert). Other MV’s are unlisted on someone’s YouTube channel
I have a question for you good sir, i’d love to recommend you a great japanese band but the songs that i’d like you to listen to are only on spotify, i hope this is not a problem overall.
The band is called NoGoD, my favorite part about them is their tetralogy of songs from four different albums.
First song is featured on the album Make a New World and is called Ⅰ-回顧.
Second one is on Kakera (欠片) and is called Ⅱ‐懐疑
Third one is on Genjitsu (現実) and is called III-実存
The last one is on V and is called IV-他者 Philosophia.
This is basically a super long prog song with some amazing parts through out, i would recommend putting them on a playlist in order to have the best experience while listening.
But you could always listen to them separately, as long as you get to hear it, it’s worth it believe me.
A very very gifted and wild band, also awesome Mastodon shirt
For western simplifications, Nao (sounds like now) Ryo (RO is close enough for white guys like us, Ue-chan (Sounds like way) Daisuke (dies – kay)
It is true, they can’t all be A.L.I.E.N or Yoshu Fukushu level craziness. 😛
I have had the worst time finding lyrics or any straight answers about this band. They must be out there, just harder to find.
Extrem good Song, Vid and Review 😁🎶✨👌
The drummer and guitarist is brother and sister as far as i know good reaction
If you want another song from them going all around the place, you should try “Let’s talk about menkata cottele”.
The MV’s intro is quite long and is showing a fan on her phone telling other fans that she prefers when Ryo was fat… The song is about healthy habit, junk food and diseases coming from eating garbage. Enjoy.
Just found a new link for this, LOVEBITES Spellbound Live Ride for Vengeance Tour 2021 CC for captions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dizhj6G8BLc&t=0s
Nao is Ryo’s older sister
Thanks man, checking out this band myself right now, this one was new for me~
You want more changes? Now you are ready to watch マクシムザホルモンII (MAXIMUM THE HORMONE II), the video about RYO-KUN’s weight loss.
You should react to Nuclear Power Trio! Would love your take on them! They rock.
Let’s eat Nissin’s “Cup Noodles” when we listen to this song.😁
Thank you so much for reacts to MH. I have full of happy.
I think you need to search for lyrics using the Japanese song titles.
Great reaction mate! Their self titled song, Maximum the Hormone, is one where they trolled fans. The took a break after Nao had her 1st child. After the break the told their fans that since Nao is a mother it wouldn’t be proper for her to play heavy music so they were changing their style to a more soft poppy sound. They released a poppy video and let it play for a week or so. They eventually released the rest of the song and they were heavy as ever.
The song Maximum the Hormone II was the answer to fans critical of Ryo’s weight loss. The girl at the beginning of the video is representing one of those fans. The bit at the beginning of that video is taken from the self titled song Maximum the Hormone.
When you get around to these, please check out the song Maximum the Hormone (Full version) first, then the song Maximum the Hormone II 🤘😊🤘
Maximum the Hormone fans are called Harapeko, just like Slipknot fans are called maggots. Harapeko is a cute way of saying hungry (or starving) in Japanese. So Hungry Pride may have some relation to their fans.
At the end of the video, they flash some of the commentary by Ryo on what the lyrics mean. In the part you briefly watched, he was saying that he wrote this song because he wants to continue “eating”, hence the title. “Eating” in Japanese can have multiple meanings. First, it can mean “condescending”. Some people say MTH lyrics sounds condescending because it doesn’t make sense other than to fans. Second, it means to “outperform” others in a show.
If you want to know the full meaning of the lyrics, you have to buy their DVD where they explain it.
Oh yes.
Remember…if not for Nao Kawakita, we would not have Akane Hirose (she’d still be playing trombone)…and no BAND-MAID.
Changes? Menkata Cottelee will fill that void!
At some point you have to check out their older stuff, pre 2010 stuff, it’s a little different but it’s what got me hooked on them way back in 07.
Rei rei rei, chainsaw, the death note songs, on and on so good.
