My guess for what lyrics are about (male) teens wanting to find sex and love as the summertime shows many happy people finding those things and women showing more skin thus fueling those feelings more. And the heavy parts of the song might be the frustrations of not being able to satisfy those desires.
When their touring commitments became too onerous, MAXIMUM THE HORMONE decided to franchise and established a second band called KORONANAMORIMOMO (documenting the process in a multi-part series, available on YouTube), which created a wonderful version of this song with their own music video depicting a high school zombie apocalypse (also on YT). This is the first time for me to see rhe original.
I see freetobewhoibe reacts Maximum the hormone and i click, i actually new this was coming as i saw it on your spotify playlist
Thinking you have clicked on the wrong video is common with MTH you really dont know if your getting metal, rock, pop, punk, girly jpop or electronic this is why i love them gota be time for “Maximum the hormone” make sure you do the 6.50min version
Buiikikaesu (the album with this song on it) is still my favorite from them, absolute amazing stuff. Could be also my nostalgia speaking but hey, it’s still the best in my opinion.
I can’t wait for the NoGoD reaction not gonna lie, have a great day good sir.
They are known for the politically incorrect lyrics and the taunting of the Japanese conservative society and even their own fans, so I don’t think much was lost in translation. They are original, talented, fantastic trolls and musicians, with an ’70s Sex Pistols punk spirit. So yes, masturbation, insecurity, the pain of “inadequacy” of a lustful young man and all that are in the lyrics.
This is probably their most famous song in Japan. Brings back my high school memories. The lyrics generally don’t make sense in Japanese nor does it sound Japanese, so I thought they were singing in Swedish or something when I first heard them in 2007.
There’s a few other “Koi no ~” songs, and they’re all meant to be just feel-good party songs. Looking forward to you reacting to them.
I had the same reaction to Hungry Pride, that’s why I recommend it.
Don’t miss KOI NO SUPERMA.
Maximum the Hormone are great! If you want to see them interacting with their fans, check out Koi No Sperma. There are 2 videos for the song. The first official music video is just them dancing in front of a green screen. The 2nd video is footage from them playing this song during live shows with the original video playing in the top corner. The 2nd one is the one to check out. Just type, Maximum the Hormone Koi No Sperma live in the search box. Another fun song and video to check out 🤘😊🤘
