No one quite does Maximum The Hormone like Maximum The Hormone, but they deserve to be covered by this very talented and skilled band hitting their straps. Go Nemo!
The band pronounces their name as Neh-moh-fee-lah (Neh sounding like Meh or Bleh, not knee). Murata Tamu (drummer) has to have the most adorable drum tech in all of music! (That’s her kid) mayu is actually covering 3 different vocalists in this song!
Thrash Metal + Hardcore Punk = Crossover. You definitely should check out the Texas band Power Trip. They are one of the best live band I’ve ever saw and they actually toured with Municipal Waste. Unfortunately, their singer died in 2020. From the japanese scene, I also really like the band BBQ Chickens. They are Punk Hardcore but their latest releases were a bit more Crossover. Maximum the Hormone are in my top 2 Japanese bands (BAND-MAID is the other one. What? Never heard of this all female Hard-Rock band? That’s a pity…). MTH are not afraid to mix different music genres in one song. They are unique.
M.T.H. have been hugely popular in Japan for over twenty years. Their drummer Nao has been a huge role model to many female musicians. You definitely need to check them out to give context of the Japanese metal scene. I would recommend their song Yoshu Fukushu as a great starting point.
Great reaction and intro to this music. You only know two Japanese female hard rock and metal bands?! Japan is now the home of this: Band Maid, Hanabie, Bridear, Gacharic Spin, Mary’s Blood, Hagane, Aldious, Lovebites… someone’s gonna get annoyed I didn’t list their favourites… the list goes on. Enjoy.
Nao Kawakita in MTH has inspired so many young female drummers in Japan. Thank God for that! Otherwise we wouldn’t have had bands like Nemophila and BAND-MAID (I know Akane is hugely inspired by her).
Thanks again Dragon PhIy. Cute and deadly is right !! Haha, you are talking about NEMOPHILA’s ethos “JIGOKU NO YURUFUWA” loosely translated means ~Play hard like hell and live fluffy (cute). They are a brutal metal band that can shred your face clean off, but they embrace their femininity and live happy and have fun together. They have become sisters. 🌸✨🌠
Nemophila are undisputed Queens of amazing covers and their Maximum the Hormone covers are their best! Mayu is singing for 3 different vocalists in this one, she’s unreal. Zetsubo Billy is their other MTH cover and it’s also amazing. Mayu wears a Nirvana shirt in that one and she’s a big Foo Fighters fan.
Maximum the Hormone is a band, Shimi is the song. Maximum will blow your fucking mind. Nemo also cover their son Zetsubou Billy, just as good.

No one can do MTH like Nemophila other than MTH LOL there awesome.
Maybe you should check out Maximum the Hormone 😉 I love Nemophila, but this is a MtH song!
5:21 – 5:39 the best “Kawaii Trolling” in history! (finished en-fanfare with Hazuki’s eyebrows)
Tamu and mini Tamu! That’s a lot of cute in one small room…
Tamu’s child is on the good way !
👏👏👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘❤❤❤❤❤ buena reccion
🌸🔥💪
Municipal Waste play old school thrash metal. I’ve seen them several times.
