麺カタコッテリで腹ペコラー!
Wow! MTH is LEGIT! Probably one of my favorite bands I’ve recently discovered! What about you?

Alright, so… I guess I’m late to the party on this one, ya’ll. I didn’t really look to see if it was a popular track, reaction wise, and it turns out, it is! Sort of goes against the theme of my channel, but that’s fine because I really enjoyed it! No regrets! Believe it or not, I actually stumbled onto it organically just looking on YouTube for MTH songs to react to!
If you want to check out a lesser known track that I reacted to already, here’s the link to my “The Claim of Youth” reaction: https://youtu.be/0ES7xe-QiGk
Absolutely love this band! For some context: Yes, this song was in response to fans criticizing the guitarist Ryo’s weight loss. Pretty much, the band’s love for food has been sort of a running joke throughout their history, so my guess is some fans didn’t like Ryo losing weight because of the perceived change in image.
The song’s title is “Let’s Talk About Menkata Cottelee” (menkata cottelee referring to a kind of noodle dish Ryo likes), and it’s from a 2018 EP of the same name. The vomit thing was a reference to a previous self-titled music video and also sort of a middle finger to fans who were criticizing him. The lyrics mostly revolve around the health issues Ryo was having, and the disco part is a parody of old workout tapes, with the lyrics sarcastically encouraging Ryo to get fat again (once again making fun of the fans’ behavior).
MTH’s catalogue is pretty hard to find online because of Japan’s strict copyright stuff, but if you wanna check out/react to more of them, the Youtube channel “Projecto Asian Musikko” has a huge chunk of their material archived, in the playlist section.
The whole joke at the start of the video, and the whole song in general, is that ‘Maximum the Ryo-kun’ (The guitarist) had lost a lot of weight as doctors said he needed to in order to help him get over a whole world of health issues that were risking his life. A lot of “fans” started publicly complaining about how they preferred him when he was overweight, like the girl at the start and so he throws up over the phone in a throw back to their last self titled troll song which was in response to fans expecting the band to stop being so heavy after the drummer gave birth.
He did it for him, not for the fans!
Nice reaction!! You should listen to: What’s up people, A. L. I. E. N.(second half of this song is just a joke abour Winnie file sharing), Buiikikaesu, Yoshu Fukushu, Tsume Tsume Tsume, Hungry Pride, Koi No Sperma, Maximum the Hormone (pay attention to the video with only half of the song!), Koi no mega lover and many many others!!!! Thanks
BabyMetal, Nemophila and MTH are the 3 bands that I enjoy the most listening to! When you hear a new song from them you never know what to expect and they can always surprise you 😁
This reaction turned out good. I could still see it.
With a little research here’s what I found.
This is only a video song. No single, no CD. Someone gave you one working title. Here’s another- “Maximum the Hormone II ( Roman numerals for 2)- Ryo vs Ryo- “. Found on Amazon Music under this.
This was a continuation or part 2 of the song-“Maximum The Hormone”. 1srt released in 2011 on-” Greatest the Hits 2011- 2011″. This was a 3 song single. Our song was #2.
Later released on the full album- ” Yoshu Fukushu” in 2013. I found this on Spotify. Track#14.
So you got lucky and found a deep track video.🙂
I’m in my 50’s and grew up in the 70’s and Led Zep, Queen, Floyd, Aerosmith etc were my go to bands, fast forward to now and I first heard Maximum the Hormone about 2 years ago when I was watching a SOAD video, YouTube recommended me Yoshu Fukushu, from then on I was hooked and have listened to pretty much everything they’ve done and I’d say they’re up there in my top 5 bands of all time, they’re immense. I’ve found a few Japanese bands in the last couple of years, Babymetal (equally immense), Backdrop Cinderella (amazing)….all so much better than standard rock. This song you’re listening to doesn’t even get into my top thirty Maximum the Hormone songs though, I hope you check out all their stuff 🤘
