Sometimes the lyrics have a correlation with the anime. If you haven’t seen the anime then…..it flies over your head.

Their lyrics are so goofy because they write them in Japanese, translate them to English and back to Japanese.

I just discovered you guys through your cavetown reactions, so I’d like to Suggest you do some Big Thief. Paul could actually be a decent introduction to them, since yall have already had some exposure to the lyrics (your first reaction to cavetown was his cover of this song, it’s different enough though). My favorites are Simulation Swarm, Not, Shoulders, Mythological Beauty, Velvet Ring, Paul, Shark Smile, Change, Blue Lightning. Their whole Discography is really solid, not a bad song. They’re folk rock, indie rock, and on their newest they added a bit of Americana to their mix

If you watch Death Note the lyrics kind of make sense. Also Maximum are VERY word play and sometimes don’t always make a lot of sense when translated 😆

Amazing reaction! 🍻🍻 You guys should also react to Zetsubou billy by maximum the hormone, that song’s better than this one. 🤘

I highly recommend you guys react to ‘Virtue and Vice’ by Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, aka FALILV. It’s another anime opening; the anime it’s self isn’t that great but the song is amazing.

You guys should react to “Me And The Boys” by The Living Tombstone, it is very interesting

If y’all wanna fall deeper into the Japanese metal rabbit hole, there’s a vocaloid metal music artist Utsu-P. I rec the song The Constipation of Death or the first track from his EP Galapagos. It’s an interesting listen.

You guys should react to Playboi carti, he has heavy rock themes and references in his more recent music

what this song is conveying though not directly in lyrics is the idea of bands changing their style to sell more records. The final lyrics “stop winney”(Winny Download is an old defunkt file download service something like Napster} reflect the bands cynical demands to make as much money as they can at the cost of making “digestible” music. At the end Daisuki is screaming about stopping people from downloading music for free and Nao the drummer says there are more important problems than people downloading music.

Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas have been doing openings for anime for years now. Highly recommend them…

Both of the Viking anime Vinland Saga’s intros are pretty good. You should do a two for one with Survive Said the Prophet’s Mukanjyo and Man with a Mission’s Dark Crow.
