Yay Ronin, one of my all time favourite! Like I mentioned in your A•L•I•E•N reaction, this whole album is top notch.
Yoshū Fukushū (予襲復讐 )… loosely translated as “The Anticipation of
Revenge”…. it’s about coming to terms with the effects of bullying, which was influenced by Ryō’s (guitars) personal experiences of being bullied in 8th grade (中2 ~ 中に – can see the writing while Nao sings in the beginning and the end). An anthem for all those who suffered from the effects of torment (encapsulated powerfully when all four are singing✊). Also shot in a school building, accompanied by images from the manga book specially created for the album. In fact the whole album’s interweaving concept is somewhat the experiences and effects of school life.
A true Epic! (Every song is worth checking out)🤘🤘🤘

“I feel like I’m being lied to right now.” My cat likes to climb onto my lap and roll over. If I pet her tummy, she responds a little like this song. Kidding aside, I really wish I understood Japanese better, because they are so passionate. Like you mentioned, their vocal textures and performances are deliberate and intentional, all the way from the sweetness of the opening lines to the angry screams. They are a special group.

Have tickets to see these guys in 2 months in London, been into them for nearly 15 years waiting for them to play where I live. I can’t wait, going to tear the roof off.

G’day Ronin. MTH tend to generate very loyal fans for those that stick with them – they don’t compromise on their music or humour, no matter what the topic… and this one is a fairly serious personal topic for Ryo. So great that they can still express themselves in this kick-ass way.

I completely agree with you on the “emotional” aspect of the singing and playing. Once you know the theme of the song (school bullying, as others have mentioned), you don’t really need to understand the lyrics to “get” what each part is about, and to feel Ryo’s anger. I like all MTH songs, but I really love this one.

When you look at the lyric “I will stuff acorns and confetti into your urethra!”, you can get an idea of the anger he was feeling towards the bully, instead of revenge, he achieves peace by getting all of his anger out through music.

Thank you for introducing me to this band, I’m now a fan! I have a request on this ANZAC day to react to Cliffs Of Gallipoli by Sabaton.

I just realized that the part where there is only the bass and the spoken part is definitely a wink to Born Dead of Body Count
