Heck yes Maximum the Hormone the king of genre bending band. Love Death Note too, everything is perfect, a blend of anime and music.
Maybe you should try Paledusk next, they take genre bending music into next level. I highly recommend: Wind Back, Black Ice(personal favorite), Slay!!!, BBB..
Yeah, the drummer, Nao Kawakita, is also singing backing vocals. She’s the sister of Ryo, the lead guitarist/vocalist.
Nao has inspired many, many female drummers in Japan, including Akane Hirose of BAND-MAID.
Definitely worth a deeper dive they have over 20 years of killer music to discover.
The group you listened to a few days ago, Hanabie, started as a Maximum the Hormone cover band in their high school music club.
That was fun. More Maximum the Hormone please!
You just found the Ultimate J-rock gem !
More volume on the music next time, please. Keep up the good work……and the volume. Did I mention it was difficult to hear the music? Maximum the Hormone = Maximum the volume. Ok, I’m done. Volume!
Since you watched Death Note, you will really enjoy their video for Zetsubou Billy
This is a self titled song called Maximum the Hormone lol
The first song of them I heard was played in the second Dragonball Super movie.
Fun fact that opening song by MTH to Death Note is called Zetsubou Billy has an absolut fire cover of Zetsubou Billy that you must check out!
React to another Japanese Core

Nocturnal Bloodlust – Cremation
Deviloof – Torture
