Yoshū Fukushū (予襲復讐 )… loosely translated as “The Anticipation of
Revenge”…. it’s about coming to terms with the effects of bullying, which was influenced by Ryō’s (guitars) personal experiences of being bullied in 8th grade (中2 ~ 中に – can see the writing while Nao sings in the beginning and the end). Also shot in a school building, accompanied by images from the manga book specially created for the album. In fact the whole album’s interweaving concept is somewhat the experiences and effects of school life.

The gist of it is as others have described, but I think MTH lyrics in general are infinitely difficult to translate.
First of all, the lyrics of MTH are basically more about sounding cool and feeling good when sung than anything else, and there is often no deep meaning to the lyrics. Some people on the Internet introduces MTH songs in English by saying, “This song has a message to society” etc. I appreciate that, but to be honest, I have the impression that many Japanese do not feel that much. And there are songs where the artist themselves clearly state that they were simply trying to be cool phonetically .
While the nonsense of MTH’s lyrics makes it easier to convey the quality of the songs abroad, I feel that the roller-coaster-like intensity of the songs can easily be misunderstood. It is difficult to capture the contrasts brought along with the transitions without understanding the lyrics and the context in which the song was written.
