Ah man I’m in the honeymoon phase with this band, I’m loving their quirkiness, positive energy, and irresistible sense of humor😁 The songs I listened from them so far are all unpredictable trips with serial roller coasters on the way. I guess that’s what I need at this moment and, yes, I’m having my afternoon dose of espresso too (don’t judge me)!🤣 And thank you for supplying me with the much needed Maximum the Hormone fix today! Cheers ☕🍻
Hey 2Gen. Back with the crazy guys 👍🍻. I love them. No other band has such an infectious positive energy. The song was an answer to the “fans” that wanted fat Ryo – the guitar player – back because they thought in fat he is cooler. What kind of fans were that 🤔 ?. Ryo had to loose weight cause of health issues. And he was damn successful as you can see. Well, i like it healthy and big congrats to him 👍. In the disco part i always wait for Robin, Barry and Maurice to sing 😁😉🍻
MTH now – you’re really getting around now 2G. Like AltMetall said, the song was a ‘fuck you’ by Ryo to fans who complained about his weight loss. Since it’s Japan, the fans, even the ones Ryo was aiming at, loved it. Most of their songs have really strong social messages. They formed in 1998, 2 years after System of a Down, and they are often compared to SOAD.. Bass player Futoshi is a Huge Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) fan, and that shows in their music as well. I think if SOAD and RHCP had a Japanese love-child, they would name it MTH🙂. Let’s go down the rabbit hole further with A.L.I.E.N. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdwT5JlH8gM . You’d never find it on your own, because the YouTube name is マキシマム ザ ホルモン “え・い・り・あ・ん” – which is Kanji for Maximum the Hormone “A.L.I.E.N.”
