MTH is a profoundly weird band, and they’re fucking amazing. Alien is often recommended as a first reaction, just because that sudden change in the middle is very reactable. They have other songs where they transition between rock and pop, but it’s usually more of a back and forth (poppy chorus with heavy verse and bridge, for instance). The members are Maximum The Ryo on guitar, mostly doing clean(er) vocals with some harsh vocals, Daisuke primarily doing harsh vocals and some rap but occasionally doing clean vocals, Ue-chan on bass and backup vocals, and Nao on drums, occasionally doing clean vocals, usually on bridges or doing harmony with Ryo on choruses (she’s the one singing the “stop stop winny upload” bit).
yoshu fukushu, Hungry pride, Bu ikikaesu, Whats up people and Zetsubou Billy are all amazing songs that you have to check out from this band also great video btw
Its a yes for me. I love that song. Its both about mao being a new mother and about whining upload that was the japanese limewire
If you’re liking Japanese metal I have some recommendations for you.
Dexcore- earthworms (their heaviest track)
Dexcore- brainwashing (still crazy heavy but shows their range)
Jiluka- overkill
Crystal Lake-Disobey (Rio kinishida is one of the best metal vocalists in the world right now. His growls are insane.)
The GazettE- Dogma
Anthelion – Tome of broken souls (not technically Japanese, I think they’re Taiwanese, but still sick as hell.)

These guys are the best of the best from Japan, IMO. They’ve been around for 25+ years, still the same members. They are the MASTERS of genre/tempo/vibe switches, they do it on a dime in multiple songs, and most of the time it’s so smooth you won’t even notice until a few seconds later.
A majority of the Japanese bands you’ve heard are likely influenced by this band, especially the influx of female metal bands being inspired by Nao, the drummer.
They are absolutely, absoluteeeely second to none.

I think THE MTH song for you is probably “Hungry Pride”.

This is a kind of “trolling song” about bands starting heavy/punk/hardcore/underground and then becoming way more mainstream to make money.
Winny was a japanese P2P software like Napster. In the end of the video they’re doing some joke on the fact that people not really using Winny anymore, because it was already “dead”.
Another great Japanese band I don’t believe you have reacted to is Unlucky Morpheus. One can say that although musically they are different than Lovebites, in musicianship they are very comparable. Perhaps try https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8i_QhOgsKw for a start 🙂
BTW, there is a great Unlucky Morpheus video called “unlucky morpheus dead leaves rising live zepp divercity”. It has a “four hands” bass solo going into one of their usual excellent songs. However, the video is now banned so I could only find it still available on some other reaction shows. So I guess you could react to the reaction, lol, or just sit back and enjoy it yourself. Well worth watching just for the bass solo.

This is probably their most troll song. Their other stuff also has some pretty wild switchups, but they feel way more integrated into the song itself.

From what i can tell, the song is a well made joke. Its about what alienaits them from society, the Jedi, and then finally their geatest enemy. JAPANESE NAPSTER!!!! the final bit is the dummer complaining they sound like moms because the site was dead for years at that point.
