This song is one of Maximum the Hormone’s most integrated pieces, seamlessly blending different genres, and it’s also a fun track. In my opinion, that’s the ideal song to start with.
While their other songs also skillfully blend different genres and styles, they can be surprising at first. Unless you understand the lyrics and context, it can be hard to shake the impression that they are deliberately eccentric.
As for MtH’s lyrics, they are largely unintelligible even to Japanese listeners. However, the general meaning and context can be somewhat grasped, which complements the understanding of the song. The reason the lyrics are unintelligible is that their priority is to create sounds that are pleasant to the ear. As part of this, lyrics that sound like English are intentionally crafted.
They are an interesting band for sure, never fail to amuse, amaze and entertain.
