MTH never disappoint . always put a smile on my face and leave my brain a little warped. In a good way haha. They are an amazing band.
Yeah, they’re still playing. They have just released a new single. Unfortunately, they don’t release new albums very often (last one “Yoshu fukushu” was released in 2013 and the previous one was out in 2007), and they took a few breaks. But they’re usually doing quite some live shows in Japan.
I manage to see them last year in Paris, it was obviously a blast. But very rare to see them live outside Japan.
I love how they really wear their influences on their sleeves. You can really tell they listened to alot of SOAD, RHCP, Tool, 90s poppunk, etc in the early days
Oh and I’d like to suggest to take a look at the Japanese band AILIFDOPA (previously known as AILIPH DOEPA). It’s a bit similar to Maximum The Hormone, with some weird universe (in a funny way), and they’re good too.
I hope you’ll consider reacting to 爪爪爪 aka Tsume Tsume Tsume aka Claw Claw Claw (or Nail Nail Nail depending on context) by Maximum the Hormone. It’s one of my favorites.
They also just released 恋のアメリカ aka Koi no America a few days ago!
They just released a brand new single last week after years and years of noting.
