this and babymetal are the best examples of how to mix genres that were apparently unmixable. that’s why i love they so much. and I was lucky to see MTH live here in Chile. I just need babymetal. I wish that someday they come here to the other side of the world. Pd: React to Shimi, my favourite song. Or Zetzubou Billy, the ending of Death note.

Ah, Maximum the Hormone is one of my favorites. I love the changes and the crazynes. And this is easy song compared to many others. I thought you wouldn’t like it so haven’t dared to suggest. Would be very cool to see you watch more. I believe some songs might get blocked though.

one of my all time favorite bands! I’ve been a fan of them since 2007/8. They are the masters of mixing genres in one song.

“are they kind of a screamo band?” well…. they are kind of…. a band. 😛 Seriously, they incorporate styles so widely it’s pretty much impossible to really pin them to one sub-genre. They are just AWESOME 🙂
Nao (the lady singing/screaming/playing drums) is great and a powerhouse, Ryu (Nao’s brother who plays guitar and sings/screams) is just as much of a freak, Daisuke (screams/growls) is as crazy as it gets on vocals and bassist Uehara is just damn awesome as well. The music is crazy, the videos are mad works of art, the live shows are MASSIVE from what I saw on video (would love to really see them live one day), they have fun doing what they’re doing and don’t care what anyone else has to say (there are a few songs that are a funny middlefinger in the face of some people who gave them shit) and the lyrics, if you manage to find translations and get into them are actually pretty deep and meaningful 🙂

This band was active since 1998. The song is about the guitarist middle school life when he was bullied.

you cannot put them in any genre, they go from punk to ska to hardcore to disco to techno to pop to funk, thrash, rap, heavy.

When I listen to MTH it makes me think of being on a train in the city and seeing all of the heavily graffitied walls go by. A whole mix of in your face styles that blend from one to the next.
