First off, Maximum the Hormone don’t take themselves too seriously, which I’m sure you picked up on when you watched this. As for the second half of the video, the band is making a statement about Winny, a Japanese P2P service that allowed people to upload music much like Napster. But then when the song ends, they start talking about how the message is pointless because Winny is no longer in service.

But I did not stop laughing for the next 3 minutes or so.

Haha, I’m happy to see you reacted to some Maximum the Hormone! You definitely picked one of their…weirder songs. Not one of my favorites from them, but I love to see people react to it for obvious reasons. Some other great songs from them are Yoshu Fukushu, Zetsubo no Billy, Koi No MEGALOVER, Shimi, What’s Up, People?!, Bikini Sports Ponchin, Houchou Hasami Cutter Knife Dosu Kiri, MAXIMUM THE HORMONE, Chu Chu Lovely Muni Muni Mura Mura Purin Purin Boron Nururu Rerorero, and many more.

They really are one of my favorite bands, though. They’ve got an insane amount of variety, even within the same song. I normally don’t like screaming, growling vocals, but MtH is my main exception. The music is great, and full of surprises. Any time I listen to one of their songs for the first time, I have no idea what I’m getting into, and even halfway through, I have no idea if it’ll still sound like that at the end (this song would be the main example of that). They’ve got a great sense of humor, both in their music and in real life.

And don’t worry about not understanding the songs. Even their Japanese fans don’t know what’s going on most of the time! You’ve just gotta sit back and enjoy ride! Maybe marvel at how they can throw 20 different genres into a blender and make it work!
