“Easy”, lol. “No, No, No”, yes thats the MTH factor. Seeing your facial expressions, priceless. Maximum The Hormone – wild, crazy, “japanese”, but soo great and always interesting, no boredom anywhere. Other songs are similarly crazy but in another way.
Side note, the drummer Nao is Akane’s (BAND-MAID) role model and the reason why she wanted to play the drums. Great incredibly funny reaction.

What this song is conveying though not directly in lyrics is the idea of bands changing their style to sell more records. The final lyrics “stop winney”(Winny Download is an old defunkt file download service something like Napster} reflect the bands cynical demands to make as much money as they can at the cost of making “digestible” music. At the end Daisuki is screaming about stopping people from downloading music for free and Nao the drummer says there are more important problems than people downloading music.

Producer: “So which Genre is your Song gonna have?”
MTH: “Yes!”
Maximum the hormone in a Nutshell x’D
But seriously, I love this Band. No matter how down I feel, they’re always getting me up. Maximum the Hormone? Indeed they do… Always get my Bloodpressure up and pumping =D

I’m sure others have mentioned this, but the drummer, Nao, seems to be a major inspiration for female drummers in Japan.

She has been cited by Akane Hirose (drummer for Band-Maid), and Rina Sazuki (drummer for Scandal) in interviews as a major inspiration for them. Akane has mentioned that Nao’s example was one of the major reasons that she got into drumming, and realized that it was okay for a girl to play heavier music like this.

Nao is also notable because she has had children during the band’s hiatuses, but continued to drum. This might not seem like a big deal, but it is sadly the case that marriage and children almost always mean the end of a woman’s musical career in Japan. I remember an interview with Rina where she mentions Nao while discussing her hopes that Scandal will continue making music, even if members someday start families.

More Maximum the Hormone please! Yoshu Fukushu is a great second song! Another fun fact is the bass player is influenced by Flea of the Red Hot Chilli Pepers. He plays the same bass and has some of the same tattoos. Also the drummer is the lead guitar player’s older sister 🤘😊🤘

This made my morning, Chase! Part of what is going on: Winny was a Japanese equivalent of Napster. The second part of the video is a PSA asking people not to use Winny because it steals from the artists. The drummer Nao recently had a baby so the band took some time off for her pregnancy and return. Finally, the girls in Band-Maid are huge fans of MTH.

Please, PLEASE CHASE don’t stop reacting to Maximum, you’re going to love every silgle bit of it! Nawo (the drummer) it’s amazing.
And I didn’t see it on the comments, if I remember well, “Winny” is like a pirate music download site in Japan, so that’s why the “stop Winny upload”

Maximum the Hormone is one of the bands that Babymetal lists as an influence. You can see it.

If you can get to Japan, in 2021 Knotfest has Maximum the Hormone, Babymetal, and Band-Maid on the ticket. Along with Anthrax and Slipknot.

Watching a Maximum the Hormone video….no charge.

Watching a smart, knowledgeable reviewer watch a Maximum the Hormone video and having his brain rewired in front of your very eyes….priceless.

Some explanation is probably needed here. The ending part from what I’ve gathered (and feel free to correct me on this since this is all information I’ve gathered from other reaction videos to this) is a sort of “call to arms” against some sort of shady japanese social media site at the time and the convo at the end is the drummer yelling at the vocalist for scaring off the kids and saying that vinny is gone already anyway so he should calm down. They’re an awesome band that doesen’t take itself too seriously and they LOVE to troll their fans with weird shit. A.L.I.E.N probably wasn’t the best introduction since it’s so freaking weird, but you get a good sense of how all over the place they usually are. Hope you liked it anyway an hope you’ll do more. Keep up the good work and have a damn good day!

Maximum the Hormone is one of my favorite JP bands – right up there with Babymetal, for completely different reasons. A.L.I.E.N is one of their ‘harder’ songs – they’re not -all- quite this brutal. Other standout songs by them – Koi no Megalover, maximum the hormone II, Yoshu Fukushuu. Zetsubou Billy and What’s Up, People were used in the Death Note anime, which probably got their first true exposure to the West. You have Maximum the Ryo-kun (guitar/clean singer), his sister! Nao on the drums (who also sometimes sings), Daisuke (harsh vocals), and Uehara (bassist). They have a very… unique style. They’ll be going hardcore one moment and then suddenly switch up to this crazy good funky groove… and then right back again. Lot of fun to listen to.

Damn, that was a wild one. I’ve already heard about them but never stopped to actually hear their music before. I can see why they get compared to System of a Down, specially their early albums. And man, the faces you make throughout this video are awesome! Keep up the good work and cheers from Brazil!

Man. I can’t even imagine being introduced to this band through this song. Really thrown off the deep end here. MTH is great though. Give them another go for sure.

Just be careful and watch out for the record label’s copyright trolls. But should check out their own band: Maximum the Copyright Strikes.

Maximum the hormone are definitely clowns when it comes to their videos. Their music is so great with so many twists and turns. They aren’t afraid to do anything and will laugh at themselves while doing it.
