Maximum the hormone is a play on words in Japanese it refers to organ meats. For a change of pace check out VAP it is a straight up punk song dedicated to their old record label as they recently signed to Warner Records. You can always be sure that every M.T.H. song is an adventure.

Ue-chan the bassist has an extreme influence of Flea in his styling. He even shares one of Flea’s’ tattoos in respect for him.

Genre blending is something that MTH does exceedingly well. If you listen to more of them you’ll see that they fuse a handful of genres seamlessly and make it sound wonderful.

Dudes be careful, Maximum The Hormone is addictive. I basically play them everyday like 50+ of their songs are all bangers no bad songs whatsoever and very different from each other.

The first part (very very short version) is “Your Little Hands” _(Chiisana Kimi No Te)_
it’s a fake song. It was made to make their fans believe that the band had changed its musical style. The real song follows: (マキシマム ザ ホルモン) = “Maximum the Hormone”. Eponymous song title.

*MAXIMUM THE HORMONE*
· Hungry Pride ( ハングリー・プライド )
· Alien
· What’s up people
· Preemptive Revenge _(Yoshu Fukushu)_
· Billy in Despair

· Up from the Ashes!! _(Bu-ikikaesu!!)_
· Koi no Megalover [Vimeo dot com]
· Chu Chu Lovely Muni Muni Mura Mura (Live) – [Vimeo dot com]
· Koi no Sweet Kuso Meriken
· Houchou Hasami Cutter Knife Dosu Kiri
· Rock Bankurawase
· Rokkinpo Goroshi

You need to react to their song Yoshu Fukushu! It’s my all time favourite song. Also perfectly exemplifies that Maximum the Hormone are masters of transitions and genre mixing. Other great songs are Maximum the Hormone II -Let’s Talk about Menkata Cottelee, and Buiikikaesu. Though really you can’t go wrong with this band. Expect the unexpected and enjoy the ride! 🤘

This song has some context that makes the song even better.
Before this song came out, the band was on hiatus for a couple of years for the drummers maternity. Everyone was craving for a new song and then they finally announced a new song and showed a clip of it. You see the last few seconds of that clip in the beginning of this video. It turned out to be a generic pop song that was very different from their usual style and made many people upset. The clip came with a long written message from the band, explaining how giving birth to a child changed their mentality and therefore their music style. But some people noticed that if you read the first letters off each line in the written message, it said something like “Fxxk you if you took it seriously” (in Japanese). Then a couple of weeks later, they released the latter half of the music video, which is the video you watched. So for most people it took us off guard because in the few weeks we tried to accept the fact that they changed style.

MTH’s bassist is very much influenced by Flea, that’s true, but what he does in his solo-part in this song is not slapping, that’s actually tapping. Slapping sounds very different. The characteristic of tapping is using your picking/plucking hand to play legato on the fretboard.

nunca opino negativamente de nadie, pero no creo que existan expertos que opinen sobre música que desconocen usando sólo un auricular, ni estáis escuchando todas las voces ni los instrumentos…
