The only Maximum the Hormone song I knew before this video was ‘What’s Up People?!’ which was the opening for the Death Note anime. I really recommend the song.

This is a perfect example of why experimenting with music is so important, if music doesn’t evolve it becomes stagnant.

Woo Maximum the Hormone: “Koi no Megalover”, they mix pop with metal, “What’s up people” this is pure metal. “F” Literally the song they wrote for Frieza, yes DBZ frieza.

Shame you’ve had to chop this up but love that you’re loving it. Maximum The Hormone were one of those bands that people were reacting to a few years back (in particular the song Alien, I think it’s called.) As a fan of creative bands who blend genres and don’t take themselves too seriously, I seriously love them.
Basically every song is worth checking out but the most fun has to be Koi No Sperma. They have 2 videos for it – the original which is just them in front of a green screen doing a weird dance routine and another one set to live footage from a festival showing the whole crowd doing the routine. It’s MENTAL.

Maximum the hormone suggestions:
What’s Up People
Zetsubou Billy
Koi no Mega Lover (this one has the metal/pop dichotomy thing that you seemed to like in this one)

Other japanese suggestions:
Nightmare- the World/Aluminia
Alice Nine- Tsubasa, Yami ni chiru sakura, or Akatsuki
Gazette- Reila, Hana, or Vortex

These are all bands in the Visual Kei style of japanese metal, which is sort of Japan’s gothic answer to US hair metal.

Bro, you started with the hardest song for a non-fan to get into but I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I hope you’re ready for the MtH Army flood of comments.

The Japanese makes it a bit hard to read for us but the full name of this track is “Maximum the Hormone II: Let’s Talk about Menkata Cottelee” so yeah, this is MtH part 2. If you look at their channel they have 2 versions of MtH part 1, One with an extended intro but fades out of the song early and one with the full intro. You should either check out both for a video or just go with the one that says Full Version.

It’s not titled, but there is also what I think of as a 3rd song this series called “Hungry Pride”. I’m pretty sure everyone else will give you requests as well for more MtH songs. Please do them too 🙂

As always, Killer video!!

After seeing his reaction to this we need to see his reaction to fear and loathing in las vegas.

Also PLEASE react to a live version!
Their shows are IN-SANE, like just not regular insane, but insane like you’ve never seen before, especially the crowd involvement, you’ve never seen this with any other band ever, I’m talking tens of thousands of people headbanging and doing choreos in perfect sync, crazy crazy stuff.
Also to be honest those pro-shot live videos of Maximum The Hormone are pretty hard to find on Youtube but I have a couple of rare ones on unlisted youtube links soooo DM if anyone want them :v
EDIT: I’m referring to songs like “Zetsobu Billy”, “What’s up people”, “F”, or ESPECIALLY “Koi no sperm” which is honestly the sickest one of them all live.

To be fair, they themselves were singing that eating like shit and staying unhealthy was cool in their song called “maximum the hormone”. Eating “kottelee” (thick, oily) food was their band motto. So I don’t think the fans were being mean (nobody knew he had health issues), but they were just upset. This song is called “maximum the hormone II”, which is an answer song to the complaining fans, but also to their first song. They are redefining the meaning of “kottelee”, to mean about living a “kottelee” (thick, meaningful) lifestyle instead of literally meaning kottelee food.
