Yeah the guitarist got told to lose some weight for his own health. If you go back and watch some old videos he is not even super over obese or anything, so there must of been some serious health concern. But he lost a bunch of weight all the fans complained and said they liked it better when he was fat. This song was a response to that.

These were the band that introduced me into Japanese metal back in like 2006 and they’ve been pretty much at the top of my list since.

a little context for the video: Ryo-kun (the guitarist) lost a lot of weight over the last years to reach a healthy lifestyle, and a lot of fans were angry about it because “he’s not chubby anymore”, this song is basically a “fuck you” to all those fans, the girl with her phone at the biggining represents those fans

I love MtH, man. The way they mix genres all over the place into one song making it feel like an album or an entire trip/journey is so amazing. Not to mention their fucking expertise at what they’re doing greatly complimenting it all. Let’s include some ramen eating in the end why the fuck not? God I love these guys. Been listening to them for almost two decades. What an amazing band!
“the fuck” you just witnessed was one of Japan’s greatest and most influential bands. I was gobsmacked when they released this song and to see Ryo’s weight loss. I never considered him to be grossly overweight but under medial advice he was told he must lose weight. The vomiting at the start is a throw back to one of their older videos (the song called Maximum the Hormone) that starts with the clip of Ryo vomiting. It’s also an absolute fucking banger of a song so I’d suggest checking that out as well.
