In this video I react to possibly the strangest metal band I have ever been recommended!
Maximum the Hormone is a band I had never really heard of before, so I thought I would give them a try! Needless to say I was a little bit confused about what I had just watched!
They are definitely a very good band and extremely good musicians, not sure if I am smart enough to keep up with them though!
Let me know any crazy bands you want me to react to!

Yes, but, generally speaking, clearly we don’t know what they’re doing at the first time lol
IMO ‘Maximum the Hormone'(the title of the song) or ‘Maximum the Hormone II'(the title of the song, too) would be good for the next. But there are many other good songs like ‘Yoshuu Fukusuu’, ‘Bu Ikikaesu’, ‘What’s Up People’, etc.
I highly recommend you check out their song Yoshu Fukushu next! It’s my absolute favourite song (not just by this band) and a masterpiece in transitions and genre mixing. Maximum the Hormone II -Let’s Talk about Menkata Cottelee is also an amazing song. Really though you can never go wrong with this band.
Oi oi Van, thanks for at least giving them a go, I actually had a very similar reaction to you when I found them years ago. For some reason I would try another song and before I knew it I was well down that rabbit hole.
Like someone said down below, they very much are their own Genre but I’m sure if you have another blast in your own time you’ll come to like them.

M.T.H is like the perfect snack. Sweet, Salty, Crunchy, Creamy there’s something there for everyone. Try hungry pride there newest track.
MTH likes mashing genres, they’re very good at it, they also like to troll their fans.this song Alien, is about 2 things. One, is Winny, which was like the Japanese Napster. The lead singer is telling people.to stop dling their music off Winny, but the drummer, Nao, she tells Dai that Winny was shut down years ago, so the whole song is pointless anyways, but Dai says the people have to know. Then Nao tells him is angry face scared the kids, and he looks.like his mom when he does it, dai yells don’t bring my.mom into tbis lol.
Now the 2nd half of the song, is their dig at bands that change their style to be more mainstream and popular, hence the poppy beat and bad lip syncing, as they’ve sold out from their usual style.
They’re videos are pretty interesting, if you want something without so much genre shifting, try their earlier music like Whats Up People?!, Zenkotsu Billy, Koi No Megalover, Yoshu Fuuku, Buikikaesu. If you want to see more genre mixing, maximum the hormone (or known also as your small hands) and maximum the hormone II (known as lets talk about Menkata Cottelee).

Winny was like a Napster but it had kinda phased out when they released this song. When the lead singer was shouting at the end the drummer said to calm down, his Mother is watching (something like that). That is Mum they flashed on the screen near the end. Also, the guitarist got a cameo appearance on Corey Taylor’s new song CMFT Must Be Stopped.
